Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune and GPU Centre of Excellence (GCOE) of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, jointly organized a five day workshop as a faculty training programme (FTP-2014) during June 16-20, 2014 at Lecture Hall Complex, IITBombay.

 

Objectives of the Workshop:-

  • Addressed Parallel & Distributed Computing, Visual Computing, Language Computing, and Scientific & Engineering Applications.
  • Gave exposure to programming on Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessors & GPU Accelerators Offers advanced concepts on Mixed programming - Multi-Core Processors (Pthreads, OpenMP, MPI, Cilk Plus), CUDA - NVIDIA GPU’s, OpenCL on GPGPUs & Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors.
  • Gave in-depth exposure to Heterogeneous/Hybrid Programming on multicore systems with CUDA - NVIDIA GPU’s, OpenCL on GPU’s, Intel Xeon-Phi coprocessors.
  • Exposure to Tuning & performance ideas on HPC Cluster with Intel Xeon-Phi Coprocessors,HPC GPU Cluster (CUDA/OpenCLNVIDIAGPUs, OpenCLon AMD GPU’s) with laboratory sessions.

Workshop Contents:-

  • Introduction to Parallel Computing & programming Shared address Space Computing Platforms based on OpenMP, Pthreads, MPI & Performance issues.
  • Programming on Parallel & Distributed Shared Memory Computing Platforms ( MPI, PVM ).
  • Programming on Parallel & Distributed Shared Memory Comp. Platforms with Devices – Mixed Programming.
  • Programming on Parallel & Distributed Shared Memory Computing Platforms with Devices – Heterogeneous / Hybrid Programming based on Intel Xeon Phi, CUDA NVIDIA GPU's, OpenCL AMD GPU's, MPI - CUDA, MPI - Intel Xeon Phi.
  • Programming on Parallel & Distributed Shared Memory Computing Platforms with Devices – Heterogeneous / Hybrid Programming - MPI, Hadoop MapReduce, NVIDIAGPU's - Big -Data Analytics.
  • Demonstration of Application Kernels in Science & Engineering areas, Computational Mathematics , Information Sciences.
