Prof. Paluri S. V. Nataraj, Systems & Control Engineering Group

PI, GPU Center of Excellence, IIT Bombay

Paluri S. V. Nataraj is a Professor of Systems and Control Engineering Group at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has been involved in teaching and research for about 28 years at IIT Bombay. His current research interests are in the areas of Global Optimization, Parallel Computing, Reliable Computing, and Robust Control. Prof. Nataraj received the award from NVIDIA, USA for a “CUDA Centre of Excellence” (now renamed as GPU Centre for Excellence, or GCOE) at IIT Bombay in 2013. This is the first award for a Centre of Excellence in GPU Computing in India. He is currently also the Chairman of the NVIDIA Academic Program Committee for India.  Prof. Nataraj also received the Shared University Award (SUR) from IBM, USA in 2015 for research on global optimization and for creating the OpenPower Research Facility at IITB.

 

Prof. Sachin Patkar, Dept. of Electrical Engineering

Co-PI, GPU Center of Excellence, IIT Bombay

Prof. Sachin Patkar has been teaching in the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay since 1994. He started as an assistant professor in the Mathematics Department and is now a full time Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department. His research interests include - Graph Theory, Geometric Design and Graphics, High Performance Computing, Algorithms Design and Analysis.

 

Prof. Shivasubramanian Gopalakrishnan, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

Co-PI, GPU Center of Excellence, IIT Bombay

Prof. Shivasubramanian Gopalakrishnan is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. His interests include- Fluid Mechanics, Numerical Methods, Interface Tracking Schemes, Adaptive Mesh Refinement Techniques, Higher Order Methods, Parallel Algorithms for CFD and High Performance Computing.
